Tooth restoration has many methods and many different procedures. Dental inlays and onlays are a more traditional approach to tooth restoration, but no less effective than a full crown. The inlays and onlays are then cemented in with resin cement, which provides adequate strength for the restoration from fracturing and also prevents Marginal leaks and decay.

How It’s Done
The dental inlay and onlay procedure is usually performed in two phases requiring separate visits to your New York dental clinic. The first visit will consist of your dentist taking a full impression of your tooth so a clear and detailed outline can be made. The impression will then be sent to the lab so that your permanent inlay or onlay can be created. In order to protect your teeth between your two visits, a temporary inlay or onlay will be placed over the tooth. When you go for your second visit, the protective material will be removed and the permanent inlay or only will take its place.
